The honest answer

It depends on your day — not a one-size-fits-all menu.

Searching “wedding DJ cost UK” gives a wide range because every wedding is different. A village-hall evening reception is not the same as a 200-guest country-house celebration with ceremony sound, speeches and a first-dance effects package.

Coda Sound gives you one clear, all-in quote based on your venue, date and exactly what you need. That way you can compare fairly and budget with confidence.

What influences the price

Six things that change the cost.

Date & season

Saturdays between May and September are peak wedding season. Off-peak months, Fridays and Sundays can be more flexible on price.

Travel distance

Coda Sound is based in the West Midlands. Longer journeys mean fuel, extra time and sometimes accommodation — all factored into your quote upfront.

Hours required

An evening reception only is very different from ceremony sound, wedding breakfast music, speeches and a full party. The more coverage, the more preparation and kit.

Guest count & venue size

50–250 guests is the standard setup. Over 250 usually needs a larger PA, more microphones and a longer load-in, which adds cost.

Equipment & effects

Uplighting, indoor-safe cold sparks, low fog for first dances and extra dance-floor lighting all make the night bigger — and affect the final figure.

Experience & reputation

An insured, PAT-tested DJ with backup equipment, reviews and a clear planning process is priced differently from a last-minute hire.
