Local knowledge
What a Birmingham wedding actually needs
Birmingham weddings run the full range: converted industrial spaces in Digbeth, hotel ballrooms in the city centre, country houses on the edge of the city and community and church halls where the family does the catering. Each one needs a different sound setup, and each one gets planned properly before the day.
City-centre venues and load-in
City venues often mean tight loading bays, lift access and strict curfews. Setup times and access are agreed with your venue in advance so nothing is being carried through your drinks reception.
Sound curfews and noise limiters
A lot of Birmingham venues run noise limiters or an 11pm–midnight curfew. Coda Sound works within them — the system is set up to sound full and clean at a controlled level rather than fighting the limiter all night.
Multi-generational, multicultural rooms
Birmingham dance floors are rarely one crowd. Motown for the aunties, bhangra, afrobeats, garage, house, gospel or 90s R&B — whatever the room actually is, the set is built around it and read live.

Questions
Birmingham wedding DJ FAQs
- Do you charge travel for Birmingham weddings?
- No. Birmingham is local to Coda Sound, so travel is included in the quote.
- Can you cover a Birmingham church ceremony and the reception?
- Yes — ceremony sound and microphones at one venue, then a full move and setup for the reception, planned into the timings from the start.
- Are cold sparks allowed in Birmingham venues?
- The machines are indoor-safe cold spark fountains and most venues approve them, but it is always agreed with your venue first.
